About the Mississippi Air Brakes Test

Mississippi's roads demand drivers who know their air brakes inside and out. Whether you're running logs out of the Delta or hauling poultry across I-55, a brake failure isn't an option. The humidity and heat here can mess with your air system. You need to spot problems before they start.

Our Mississippi Air Brakes practice test mirrors the actual DMV exam. You'll face 25 questions on brake components, emergency procedures, and inspection routines. Each question comes from the Mississippi CDL handbook. We give you the right answer and explain why it's correct.

Don't waste time studying stuff that won't show up. We focus on what matters for Mississippi drivers: logging trucks on gravel roads, long descents on I-20, and the stop-and-go of Gulfport's port traffic. Pass this test, and you'll be ready for the real thing.

What This Test Covers

  • Brake system components – know your compressor, reservoirs, and brake chambers for safe operation on rural Mississippi highways
  • Air compressor and governor – Mississippi's heat and humidity can cause compressor failure; learn to check it
  • Brake adjustment – critical for logging trucks on steep, winding roads in the Pine Belt
  • Dual air brake systems – common on modern rigs; you need redundancy to stop safely on I-55
  • Parking brakes – essential for parking on slopes in Mississippi's hill country without rolling
  • Emergency brake systems – sudden stops happen on busy highways like I-20; know your emergency procedures
